The Southern Timbercraft Team
Because the people of a company make it special…
Southern Timbercraft Division Manager
Rob Clutter is Division Manager for Southern TimberCraft, a division of 38-year-old Honest Abe Log Homes, a family-owned wood home manufacturer based in Moss, Tennessee.
Southern Timbercraft designs, manufactures and builds distinctive homes and commercial structures that combine the luxurious beauty of wood with the affordability of traditional construction.
“Having the backing of an established company like Honest Abe provides Southern TimberCraft with the quality of materials and depth of experience to build structures with distinctive features at a competitive price,” Clutter said.
Clutter has more than a quarter century of experience in the wood home industry. During his years as a sales representative with Honest Abe, which began in 1991, Clutter’s expertise helped hundreds of customers achieve their goal of owning a log or timber frame home.
“Rob still holds the distinction of being our most successful sales rep ever,” said April Smith Patterson, CEO of Honest Abe Log Homes and Southern TimberCraft. “What this means to customers of Southern TimberCraft is that Rob knows how to successfully navigate through the process of designing and building exactly what was expected in the most efficient and economical way possible.”
Following his tenure working directly with Honest Abe, he maintained a relationship with the company as a consultant and trainer. At the same time, he was publisher of three nationally distributed log and timber home magazines. He continued to help guide people along the path to custom wood home ownership by teaching Log and Timber Home University classes to thousands of participants in locations across the United States.
Clutter puts his experience into action with Southern TimberCraft.
“I have worked with clients to help them build homes of all shapes and sizes, and I am ready to do that again,” he said. “From small cabins to spacious estates to commercial buildings, no project is too big or small. Each project will be designed, manufactured and built to meet that specific client’s needs.”
Clutter, who will be representing Southern TimberCraft nationally, resides in Manchester with wife, Tiffany, and their four children.

“My hope is to model being a servant for our team,” says Josh. “If our people are able to grow, enjoy one another and their work, then it transforms how they serve customers of Southern Timbercraft.”
Josh currently serves as the chairman of the Log & Timber Homes Council and on the Board of Trustees of the Building Systems Council, each of which are components of the National Association of Home Builders.
As Vice President, Jeff Clements assists and guides Southern Timbercraft in providing the services and products that customers need.
“The responsibility of our company in carrying on its decades-long tradition of providing customers with the timber home they have dreamed of is not a role that I take lightly,” said Jeff, who has a 15-year history with Honest Abe, parent company to Southern Timbercraft.
Jeff said he enjoys working with and helping people.
