A note from the designer...
Ridgeside is brought to you by Southern Timbercraft with the design for an active family that loves the outdoors. This dual level, three-bedroom, three-bath home offers expansive decks on the main and lower levels of the home with features that draw everyone into both private and shared outdoor spaces.
Entering the home from a welcoming front entrance, guests find a large entry foyer with a Powder Room to the left. The Foyer quickly opens to a formal Living Room with soaring ceilings and a wide fireplace. The back wall of the Living Room allows a vista view and has French Doors leading to the main covered porch at the back of the home.
To the right of the Living Room is a formal dining area with ample space for a dining table that seats 10, a traditional sideboard and hutches. Large windows share the view of the valley and the covered porch extends outside the entirety of the Dining Room.
The Dining Room shares space the open floor plan with a dreamy Chef’s Kitchen separated by an island that allows for bar seating for four. The island area doubles as a massive entertainment buffet space allowing the host to manage party flow from the open kitchen floor plan.
Off the Dining Room is the entrance to a large Screened Porch. The door enables the Dining Room to create a large flow of indoor/outdoor entertainment space. The Screened Porch offers the amenity of a large outdoor fireplace with soaring roof cover that draws the outside into a functional outdoor living space. The Screened Porch connects to the covered deck outside the windows of the Dining Room which connects to the Covered Porch of the Living Room. Family and guests can roam across the entirety of the back yard from these connected covered or screened outdoor spaces. But the outdoor decking does not end there. Beyond the Living Room deck is a covered deck that houses a four-person hot tub. The hot tub feature overlooks the outer part of the deck and provides the widest view scape of the back yard from the privacy of the second floor decking.
The Kitchen area offers the organization that all homeowners seek of a family entry. A doorway in the Kitchen leads to a Mud Room with plenty of storage area for coats, boots, athletic gear and backpacks. And built in buffet for the things you need to keep handy as you come and go. To the left of the Mud Room is a large walk in Pantry for Kitchen supplies and utensils. There is a walk in Laundry Room with counter top folding areas and space for storage and ironing.
Also off the Mud Room is a Home Office space. Whether a family has a home business or someone is an avid crafter, this large office area provides space away from the coming and going of the household. And the Home Office has the ability to incorporate the outside decking system with French Doors that open to the Dining Room’s Screen Porch.
The final door in the Mud Room leads to the two-car garage. The garage offers plenty of additional space for garden and lawn equipment and has a door entrance from the outside in addition to the car doors. An optional additional 438 square feet of buildable space is above the garage in what would be a bonus room accessed from a stairwell inside the garage. This bonus area could serve as a recording studio, separated office or even an apartment area.
On the other side of the main floor’s Living Room is the entrance to the Master Bedroom Suite. This luxurious Master Retreat offers the view scape of the back yard in part through private French Doors leading to the deck section that houses the Hot Tub. The bedroom offers a quiet retreat from the bustle of the home. The Master Suite has an extensive walk in closet with room for a dressing area. The Master Bath includes a double sink vanity, spa shower and private toilet closet.
The Living Room is the start of the stairwell that leads to the lower level of the home. The Den at the bottom of the steps supplies a flexible open space with a large closet storage to keep game, videos and other clutter tucked away. The room sports a large fireplace for a cozy evening of family fun or a perfect hangout for teens. Adjacent to the Den is a Game Room area that is spacious enough for a billiard table and also houses a wet bar with island seating for five. The wet bar area has ample space for a kitchenette providing a ready-made self-contained party area on the lower level of the home.
An exterior door in the Den provides access to a covered decking and porch area that mirrors the entire main floor massive decking. This outdoor living space, at or near ground level provides access to the entirety of the home’s backyard.
Next to the base of the stairwell is a full bath which includes a double vanity and tub. This bathroom is shared by two downstairs bedrooms at opposite ends of the lower level and is the bath used by guests who may be in the hangout space of the Den and Game Room.
To the left and to the right of the stairwell on each end of the home are the bedrooms. Each bedroom provides a large retreat space with exterior windows and natural light. There is plenty of room to stretch out, do homework or lounge. Both of the bedrooms sport a large walk in closet space.
The lower level also offers a large finished storage space and mechanical room with access between the bathroom and one of the bedrooms.
Ridgeside is Southern Timbercraft’s benchmark home for the busy family living with a love of the outdoors. It makes the most of every view and offers each family member ways to enjoy the outdoors and all of the space of the indoors.
