A note from the designer...
The main entrance already draws guests onto the beginning of the expansive wraparound decks a short distance from the homes’ side garages. The entrance leads directly into a spacious living room with soaring sloped ceilings and a corner placed fireplace.
Moving straight through the Living Room is a great room space with a formal dining area that comfortably seats six and is open to a dreamy chef’s kitchen. The great room incorporates the soaring ceilings of the home and provides the dramatic French door access to the left of the Dining Room to the ample screened in portion of the wrap around porch. The Dining Room space takes full advantage of the exterior view scape and provides the option of easy access to indoor/outdoor entertaining.
The Kitchen is integrated into the great room space separated only by a large eat in island bar complete with down vented stove top/grilling in the island. The island easily seats a family of four or can become the centerpiece for a bar/entertaining buffet that makes full use of the island space.
The home also has a family access area at the other end of the home. From the Living Room, a right turn provides an entrance to a Coat Closet or Pantry Closet and a Guest Half Bath Powder Room. The back hallway continues to an enormous Butler’s Pantry and Laundry Room. This area provides comfortable spaces for expansive kitchen pantry storage and lots of laundry countertops for folding clothes and ironing. The space includes a wash sink to enable food prep or canning activity for the homeowner.
The path to the Butler’s Pantry takes you past the Mud Room and garage entrance of the home. The Mud Room provides ample room to stash coats, shoes, backpacks or athletic gear in a large closet or shelving area.
The two-car garage provides additional space for lawn equipment and includes a utility sink area for the avid gardener. The garage also provides a doorway that leads directly to the back side of the home for easy yard maintenance.
The other secret of the family access hallways is a staircase that leads to the lower level of the home. The stairwell, with natural light from a skylight is the access to spacious storage closets at the foot of the stairs. To the left is the home’s second bedroom. This bedroom can be a fully private apartment bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and linen closet. Or access to the bathroom can be shared by those using the amenities of the lower level.
