A note from the designer...
A covered front porch provides the formal entry into the home’s living room and open kitchen design. This easy living space makes entertaining guests a breeze while keeping the family’s bedrooms private. A guest bath in the spacious Laundry Room serves to allow overnight guests full access to the home’s utilities and living space.
The home offers a private Master Suite on the ground level. The large bedroom affords a vista window to the private back area of the home. With a double sink and spa shower option in its bathroom and a large walk-in closet space separated from the bedroom by a private hallway, this bedroom is both a retreat from the bustle of the home with the functionality of a space that allows two people to meet the day on their own schedules.
The loft-style upstairs is a retreat for guests or children with two full bathrooms serving the two bedrooms. Each bedroom sports a large closet and storage area, making it perfect for young children, teens or guests.
From the Living Room people can access an expansive screened porch that is perfect for dining and entertaining. The covered area covers the full length of the home’s exterior, with access to both the front and back lawns of the home. But also serves as the connecting space for the private 2-bedroom guest cottage. Each bedroom affords a private entrance from the screened porch and provides each guest with a full private bath and plenty of closet space.
The Guest Cottage is the ultimate in guest privacy and comfort while allowing them to easily slip across the screened porch to the Living Room, Kitchen and Laundry Room of the main home. Guests can access the Cottage space privately, without disturbing the Main House, but are still clearly welcomed into the central living quarters.
This area would work well for a home office that allowed for clients to be seen onsite without having access to the home’s private living quarters.
For those who love to entertain or have frequent overnight visits from family and friends, this is a perfect design. And, best of all, for those hoping to open a bed and breakfast or a guesthouse after the kids are gone, the design is ideal.
