Mockingbird Hill Timber Home

A note from the designer...

The Mockingbird Hill home is all about the active family. With outdoor room to stretch out, the house offers 3346 square feet of indoor living space and 496 square feet on its porches and decks. The Mockingbird Hill home is an open plan for family and friends to visit together inside and out. The covered porch formal front entrance draws guests into a dramatic foyer with ceilings rising to the second floor loft area. The foyer provides a coat closet for guests as they are drawn into the family living room featuring a large fireplace with a soaring ceiling and view of the second floor bridge connecting the two upstairs bedrooms. Immediately off the living room is the home’s master suite. This secluded space also includes access to the outdoors via a private deck off the bedroom. A private entry hallway separates the sleeping area from the master in-suite bath, which features a spa tub, double sinks and a private toilet closet. The suite sports a large walk-in closet and dressing area off the bath. Adjacent to the living room is a dreamy chef’s kitchen with a full prep bar, walk-in pantry and an eat-in dining room. From the kitchen, family can also gather on a large screened porch or from the living room, family could head onto an extensive covered porch that extends the entire back side of the house. The kitchen screened porch adjoins the backyard porch with a doorway for easy transitions across the outdoor space. A hidden feature of the kitchen is a private office for conducting family business, crafts or homework without being separated from the rest of the household. Off the covered porch is the passageway to the roomy 2.5 car garage. With ample room in a shared space for two vehicles, the half-bay easily become a workshop space or storage for riding mowers and outdoor gear. Along the hallway from the garage to the screened kitchen porch is a steam room, full bathroom and the home’s laundry room with folding and ironing space. The second floor of the home is accessed via a stairwell near the front/formal entrance of the home. This upstairs offers two bedrooms each with large walk-in closets and individual linen closets. The bedrooms share a full bathroom and a sitting room in the loft area. Connecting the upstairs bedrooms is an open bridge which crosses above the first floor living room. The second floor also includes a hallway leading to a bonus room above the double garage space. This bonus space can provide a haven for teens, a playroom for younger children or a man cave for the guys and gals who want a space to hang out. This Southern Timbercraft creation is planned for the family that uses its outdoor spaces as actively as the indoor.
